This site contains information compiled from research about the Arnot family of Goshen, New York.

I became interested in this family when I learned of my connection to Henry Arnot, Sr., who was born in Goshen, New York in 1761. He is my fifth great grandfather.

While many Ancestry trees and other websites list Henry's parents as Isaac and Hannah White Arnett of Philadelphia or New Jersey, it has been verified through various sources that his parents were actually William (born 1738) and Elizabeth Arnot, of Goshen, New York. It is also believed that William is the son of Peter Arnot (born approximately 1700), and his wife Lenah, also of Goshen, New York. Several sources point toward the family immigrating from Scotland, but this has not been verified, and I have been unable to find information pointing to our exact immigrant ancestor.
